Summer Games '09

Ok here is my mother of all posts to catch everyone up to speed on our fabulous life. Or I will tell you as much as I can remember.
First order of business was that we had our 1 year anniversary August 2. Which was actually a Sunday so we celebrated Saturday.

Eric got me the most beautiful earing and necklace set. He said he told the jeweler that I like hearts so he chose from those. It's white gold with 3 diamonds in each piece to symbolize our past (yeah it's not long) present and future. Love it!

I got Eric a new computer chair because that's where he spends half of his life. No, I exaggerate. But at least the time that he does spend there, he'll be a little bit more comfortable and BONUS it looks way better than our old one.

We celebrated by going to dinner at our FAVORITE place. Texas Roadhouse baby. We waited and hour and a half for our table but it was worth it. (FYI you can call ahead. We'll do that next time). We had a good time sitting and talking while we waited for our table.

The food was great and there was a ton of it but I got spilled on twice. That's right. Twice. The first was honey mustard on my skirt and the second was a tray of water into my lap. Nothing was ruined and we got dinner for free plus free dessert! So that was worth it.

We then went to pick up memory foam for the top of our mattress and new sheets with a new comforter set! We love the creams and browns and it was a good male/female compromise. Lilly has this thing were she likes to "help" us make the bed, meaning, she jumps up and chases the sheets and covers every where.

Speaking of our bed.... my mother took pitty on us and spent a lot of time finding us a new pillow top mattress and box spring! We are thrilled with them! Our bed feels SO much better. (Note: You probably don't need memory foam AND a pillow topper but Eric likes it).

This summer we've spent almost every Monday and Wednesday night playing tennis! We've gotten better at it and we feel happy that we are doing something active. We also played on some softball leagues this spring. My co-ed team won 2 games and Eric's took second in the league but I feel good about how I played. I got promoted (I don't know the sports termology) to 3rd baseman and I had some awesome catches. Too bad I can't hit very far and I usually get out at first. Eric did well. He's a good catch and he had some good hits too.

We also went camping a few times with the Keele's and the Hanson's. We love camping and we got our own cooler finally so there are only a few things left that we need but the stuff that we need is mostly for backpacking.

On our way to meet the Keele side of the family up the Santaquin Canyon we got into a car wreck. A truck came down too fast and came into our lane and hit us head on on the driver side. It was ok to drive but it was a pain to get it all taken care of. By the way, we really liked the Lindon Collision Repair if you need something fixed. They were super nice and even gave us a tour of the shop. They seemed really on top of things and the Xterra looks better than when we bought it.

This Eric pointing out the skid marks on the road for the accident to prove that we weren't at fault. I have no idea why Eric's knees are so dirty.

In more recent news, Eric and I have been looking at condos to buy! We are hoping to be in one by November. We will probably end up in the Ranches in Eagle Mountain or somewhere in Saratoga Springs. We talked to a lender and we are getting things rolling! Eric has found all kinds of optimism and motivation to get tons of hours at work to help us get into our own home and he's really excited about it. Especially because he might be able to get a new TV with the $8,000 tax credit we'll get. He's so cute. :)

My 23rd birthday is Saturday so we are planning some fun stuff! I'm meeting one of my best friends in the whole world in Layton to go shopping Thursday and then Friday we are celebrating my birthday because we work Saturday. So friday we are going to sleep in (YES) and then go to lunch at Zupas and then go shopping again! Boy do I LOVE shopping and I've missed it so much! Eric is being so sweet about it. He said he'll go anywhere with me and I can shop all day and he won't complain. Saturday after work we are going to dinner. I'm feeling the Olive Garden but I reserve the right to change my mind.

So, I'm sure I left out lots but I did my best. I hope ya'll are satisfied. I'm planning on blogging about my birthday but no promises. :) Loves!

Stalker

I met Eric through my friend at work (Aubri who is friends with Laura, my mother-in-law) and she told me about Eric about 6 months before he got home from his mission. This is the photo Aubri got from Laura to show me a month before he got home. I liked what I saw. :) He always makes weird faces for the camera but isn't he cute?? (He's the hot, buff one.)

Random Pictures from the past year.

I finally got all the pictures off my camera from the past year and decided to put them on. I didn't get them on here in order but it's way to much work to try to switch them around on this stupid thing so just pretend. K?

This is a drunk bunny in the elevator on our cruise ship. We went on a cruise in May and stopped in Catalina. We went with our friends Brittany and Brady. More pictures from this trip further down.

This is last September to Bridal Veil Falls. By the time we got there is was too dark to see it. Those are the breaks. :)
Eric EARLY Christams morning showing some leg. We got up at 2:45 AM to open presents. Neither of us could sleep so we got up. No reason not to.

Lily was a good sport and got up with us too. Her present from Santa was a package of these mice. She loves them!

This was my cool toy from Eric. I got a Nintendo DS with Super Mario. It took me about a week to beat it. It took Eric about 2 days. I beat it first though.

This is Eric trying out his new mummy bag. With a grape I stuck up his nose because he couldn't move. Can you blame me?

The Crack in the Wall on our first backpacking trip together.

Coke World! Eric likes Coke and I like Eric. It works out. We stopped in Vegas on our way to California to get on our cruise ship.

Catalina Island. Getting some drinks from far away places. One was Sangria and the Orange one was from Russia and had Soviet Union stuff on it.... I don't understand either.

At the front of the boat with my root beer float sucker. YUM.

On the boat. Possibly in the club.

Ruby's Cafe at the end of the Huntington Beach Peir in Huntington Beach, CA. BEST FREAKING BROWNIE SUNDAY. Just FYI.

Yellowstone with the Keele family at the end of May. We saw 4 bears!

At a waterfall. I look fat in all my layers. But I'm not fat. A nurse at the health fair told me I'm not.

This is Luke with Eric. They were grooms men at their friend Weston's wedding in September.

My first pot roast! I'm such a good wife. Sometimes. Also in September I believe.

The Little Things

Ten little things that make me terribly happy:

1. The sound of flip flops on a summer night

2. When the audience in a movie theater claps at the end

3. Root Beer Popsicles you can split in half and share

4. Baby necks

5. Water Fights

6. Hot Chocolate + Wool Socks

7. Eating breakfast on the porch in the sun

8. My kitty following me around purring

9. Eric sneaking cookie dough

10. Getting the high score

I'm with the band.

Last night Eric played with his band at the Muse on University Ave. in Provo. As his wife, I got to be on the guest list and tell the guy making everyone pay $5 that I was with the band. I never thought that one day I would say but I love it! Eric is quite an amazing guitar player (according to people who would know) and he's so fun to watch! It's a very different kind of crowd and I think I got high just from standing next to people but the people watching was very interesting. There was this one guy with one of the bands (A total screamo band which I hate but you have to admire the talent.) and I think he was trying to mosh or something but he was kicking and throwing elbows and Eric had to stand in front of me for protection. He stayed away from Eric. Eric could kill a man. That guy was nuts. I wish I got a picture of him.
I only had my camera on my phone so the pictures aren't great but good times anways.

Can you see my ear plugs? An abolute must! A huge thanks to my mother-in-law for those!

Jumping

Ok, I see a lot of amazing videos come through my work email box but I HAD to share this. It's one of the most incredible things I've ever see!! It's a bit long but oh my heck! It's a big group of girls dancing with jump ropes meets gymnastics. So awesome!

Yeah I know the picture is strange but I like it in some way...

Life. Mine and Others.

So I've just read the most awesome blog ever. My friend Kalli showed it to me. This girl is living in NYC with her husband and she has the kind of life from a book. Seriously. She's working as some kind of stylist and just graduated from Julliard. Her husband is a Columbia University grad. They are most fashion forward couple on the plant and they do the funnest stuff! She also makes her own headbands and sells then and was featured in Glamour magazine. She gets all these ideas from magazines to decorate her apartment and such too. She's my age!

Seriously, I don't know if I'm motivated or just depressed. She is an over achiever. I want to be like that!

I've made a small list of things I would like to improve on so I don't feel so lame.

1. Get ready every morning including at least mascara.

2. Try to be more creative with my time.

3. Blog more often about random small things so I have a journal.

4. Play more.

and I totally stole one of her ideas...

She and her husband and trying to find the best burger in NYC so I asked Eric if he would like to do something similar in the state of Utah. I haven't seen him this excited since Christmas. :) I'm going to make a log and we are going to keep track of where we have been and rate the burgers with a 5 star rating system.

{p.s. If you would like to see her blog it's http://taza-and-husband.blogspot.com/}
